Ian Reed

Ian Reed

Born into a fruit growing family, Ian graduated from the University of Greenwich/Hadlow College with a degree in Commercial Horticulture. Spending a few years working in the New Zealand fruit industry, he returned to England to find fame and fortune as a Fruit Adviser.

An organic produce enthusiast, Ian joined Tesco as a Technical Manager in fresh produce. Despite his “fruity” background Ian rose to the challenge of managing a wide range of veg and salad categories. A job he did so well he became the Category Technical Manager for Organic produce.

A decade later Ian joined Wight Salads Group as Technical Director, mastering the tricky job of keeping legions of retailers happy whilst the company went through an extended period of change.

Returning to his farming roots in 2009 Ian remained keen to be involved in the fresh produce sector.

With 15 years experience (on both sides of the fence) Ian possesses a detailed understanding of, and empathy for, the challenges of food retail. This enables him to pin-point the most suitable individuals for leading clients in the fresh produce, agriculture and FMCG food sectors.

Outside of the office, Ian enjoys travelling around the UK and Europe in his newly restored VW T3.  He is also an avid bee keeper, loves scuba diving and a nice bottle of red!
