Site Technical Manager
Our client is a highly innovative leader within their field and one of the UK’s largest Soft Fruit producers. Due to continued success, they are now searching for a Site Technical Manager to drive agronomic excellence throughout their UK growing business.
The management of growing soft fruit crops. To include irrigation management, climate management, identification and control of P&D and coordination of pesticide spraying.
• Responsible at all times for the identification and control of pest and disease, through crop walking and reporting of issues to the Business Unit Manager, Agronomist and any other relevant persons. Also responsible for the coordination of spraying, as advised by the Agronomist
• Responsible at all times for following the irrigation feed recipes, for the accurate mixing of feed and taking feed samples, as advised by the Agronomist.
• Responsible at all times for following the irrigation volume blueprint, advised by the Agronomist, and monitoring regularly throughout each day, using own initiative to amend volumes as determined by factors of each day (weather, plant and so on).
• Responsible for a 1 in 3 weekend duty rota, duties to include, environmental computer operation, monitoring irrigation and the reporting of any maintenance issues.
You will be an effective communicator with crop production experience ideally within the soft fruit sector. You will need to demonstrate the ability to proactively manage all crop P&D and fertigation strategies and know what excellent looks like. Confident when dealing with others, able to influence and engender change.
