A keen and enthusiastic individual is required to join a team of agronomists for a leading supplier of soft fruits. The candidate will be required to provide comprehensive agronomic support in the form of on-farm advice to a grower group, covering multiple sites and several thousand acres of soft fruit crops of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries.
The ideal candidate would have experience in agronomy (preferably soft fruit), with up to date knowledge of crop production systems, nutrition, and pest and disease control. An understanding and interest in the development of new varieties would be a positive attribute. The role will be home-based in East Anglia, visiting sites throughout the South East, but must also be willing to travel regularly further within the UK and Europe for grower and propagator visits, and to attend international industry events as required.
The candidate must be able to work independently on grower visits, as well as being a key part of the wider agronomy and technical teams. Involvement with the whole business will involve regular communication with the companies QA, R & D, commercial, and sales teams.
Ideally BASIS (& FACTS) qualified but would consider a trainee role for the right candidate.
Full driving licence is essential.
Salary dependant on candidate and experience.
