KTP (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) supports partnerships between business and universities or research organisations, placing graduates (KTP Associates) to work on innovative high-profile projects.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a KTP Associate to work with our clients in Scotland to drive, develop and optimise crop production and product development of a new fruit to Scotland – the Honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea).
We seek a graduate with an upper second class honours degree or better. Ideally in a biological, chemical or agricultural science, business or other relevant discipline. Previous laboratory or field experience will be beneficial but not essential. The candidate will have capacity to initiate and execute field trials and laboratory experiments and analyse data using office software.
You will be responsible for leading and delivering a challenging commercial project that directly impacts the business. You will develop and test growing protocols to optimise crop production and use cutting-edge analytical techniques to develop, monitor and optimise honeyberry products. You will explore and develop the market opportunity for honeyberry products by engaging with production facilities, retailers, funders and other relevant parties. You will be required to report results to employees and investors as well as to potential customers hence previous experience in the development and delivery of written reports and presentations is required. You will be a driven and ambitious individual who is motivated by the market development opportunity that a new Scottish berry presents. Ideally you will have previous experience in a commercial environment.
Our client will provide a £6k training budget that is tailored to your personal development needs, along with two free residential management training courses at the beginning of the project.
