AGRI-HR, a new seasonal agricultural recruitment business, is launched by Jan-Willem Naerebout, former Group Operations Director of S&A Produce.
AGRI-HR focusses on the direct recruitment of seasonal agricultural workers for farming & fresh produce businesses in the UK. The business started in January 2019 and is already engaging with a number of motivates applicants and professional farming & fresh produce businesses.
British summer fruit and vegetable growers, who employ some 60,000 workers a year, mostly from eastern Europe, are seeing the availability of workers vastly shrinking. There are already reports of a shortage in the region of 6,000 – 12,000 workers and in some cases, fruit is left to rot in the fields. The financial impact to the industry is running into millions due to unharvested produce, productivity losses and spiralling labour costs.
Jan-Willem Naerebout has extensive experience in the web based, direct recruitment model and has successfully recruited over 20,000 of motivated agricultural workers from Eastern Europe over the last 10 years.
