Our client provides high quality, independent technical advice to leading Soft Fruit Growers in the UK, Eire and also Internationally. They retain strong links with their international advisory counterparts and are uniquely placed to give rapid transfer of “up to the minute” research and development information in this fast-moving sector. Due to ongoing developments, they now have two vacancies – Senior Soft Fruit Advisor and Trainee Soft Fruit Advisor.
Suitable candidates will have acquired a thorough working knowledge of Soil and Substrate-based Soft Fruit Production systems (ideally with Glasshouse and Nursery production knowledge). They will possess good IT literacy and demonstrate the ability to work both as part of a team and on their own initiative. They should ideally be educated to degree level and possess BASIS/FACTS qualifications (not a pre-requisite) , and will have accumulated several years experience in advisory work. Candidates with several years’ experience in soft fruit production at managerial level will also be considered.
Successful candidates will undergo further training in the UK and Holland and will initially work closely with one or more members of the advisory team. The successful candidate will be home-based, ideally in the South/Central England. They may also be required to visit clients in Ireland and other international destinations. A valid UK driver’s licence is essential.
