A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an organised, commercially aware and hands-on Production Manager to join a fast-paced fresh produce business, taking responsibility for coordinating daily packing operations and ensuring customer orders are delivered efficiently, accurately and to specification.
This is a pivotal role, acting as the link between production, commercial, quality, food safety, logistics and external packing service providers. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring production plans are delivered, customer requirements are met and operational performance continues to improve.
The Role
Working closely with the Operations Manager, the Production Manager will coordinate daily production activities and ensure packing programmes are delivered according to schedule.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating daily production and packing activities with external service providers.
- Reviewing customer orders with the Commercial team and prioritising production according to demand.
- Ensuring packing partners have the correct materials, labels and operational information.
- Monitoring productivity, packing efficiency, operational performance and production progress.
- Acting as the key communication link between the business and packing service providers.
- Working closely with Logistics to maintain product flow, stock visibility and timely order fulfilment.
- Supporting Quality with the allocation of fruit against customer specifications and quality standards.
- Working alongside Quality and Food Safety teams to ensure production meets food safety, hygiene, quality and customer requirements.
- Coordinating customer and service-provider requirements relating to labels and legal labelling information.
- Creating and maintaining Bills of Material within the company’s CDS system.
- Supporting the Commercial team with the development of new products.
- Identifying production bottlenecks and driving opportunities for process improvement.
- Preparing and communicating weekly production performance reports.

- A practical, solutions-focused approach to identifying and resolving operational issues.
- The confidence to build effective relationships with service providers and internal teams.
- A strong understanding of quality, food safety and customer requirements.
- The determination to improve processes, challenge inefficiencies and deliver better results.
