Farm Management Business Consultant required for a very Progressive Farming Business
Excellent Salary & Benefits Package
Our client is a very strategical aware farming and contracting business and is aligned to a select number of large landholders in the Suffolk region. They are unique as they offer a truly tailored farming and consultancy business to the aims and objectives of their client portfolio. They are focused on providing effective and impartial agricultural business advice and remain resolute in the expertise they give to progress their clients’ businesses. In comparison to similar businesses in their sector, they are unique because of their renowned financial expertise combined with a complete farm management understanding, which includes practical farming services as well as financial and policy expertise of all sectors including combinable crops, sugar beet, fresh produce and farm diversification.
Growth within the business has meant that they are now looking to recruit a Farm Management Consultant and ideally an individual who can partner with the Managing Director to create further success. As such you will be joining an established and highly respected team with a career progression second to none.
For the role in question, on a day-to-day basis you will be involved in the full practicality of the farm planning and direct farming operations in a mixture of management and professional work for the business’s clients. This will involve extensive communication with external parties, the clients themselves as well as working with the key strengths of the existing farming team. Included in all of this will be the potential desire to develop new high-quality business as well as professionally managing the existing client base on-going and looking to make the portfolio of client’s land future proof in our uncertain times.
The right candidate will ideally have previous experience in Farm Management consultancy, agricultural/food accountancy or you may be just keen to “break” into this sector. Having knowledge of the various agricultural government schemes, the ability to identify new income streams and diversification opportunities would be very beneficial. Working knowledge of the agriculture/environmental/financial sectors and rural land use would be very advantageous as well as experience of practical farming.
As there is the hands-on element, it creates an enjoyable mix of practical farming as well as the ongoing consultancy elements. A “leaning” towards the financial elements of business planning/consultancy would be looked on highly favourably as well. As you would expect, you will need to have a driving licence as there is regular travel to rural areas.
This role offers the successful candidate a significant amount of career progression and as such, it cannot be underestimated for its uniqueness in the sector.
