Our client has over 40 years’ experience in growing and supplying vegetables with the majority of it supplying the Irish retailer sectors. Due to ongoing growth, they are now seeking an experienced and ambitious Grower/Manager to lead their team while assisting the management team to further build and develop the business.
The role is based in the beautiful South-East of Ireland in the Counties of Wexford & Carlow. The role will involve leading a team of 35+ and will be responsible for the day to day running of the salad farming elements of the business.
Key Elements of the Role:
- Growing of the crops – planning, plant raising, planting, crop production and harvesting and
- all management associated resourcing, and implementing.
- Management and development of the team.
- Compliance with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- All aspects of farm machinery, improvement, and management of maintenance.
- Management of KPIs, costs and budgets to achieve targets.
- As part of the management team, contributing to the continuous improvement of the
- business.
What do we want to see from you:
- 3+ years’ experience of vegetable growing and production.
- Great people management/team leadership skills combined with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to learn, and train the people working with you, to improve the business.
