An exciting opportunity has arisen for an astute and commercial margin focused Farm Manager to take ownership of a great unit that our client has managed since 2016 and is a mix of arable, veg and sugar beet. The soils are a range of silty loams to heavier silty clay loams with the main enterprise focus being 125 ha of potatoes for packing. As well as the unit in question you would be managing 4 x full-time staff plus harvest casuals and agency staff for potatoes. The farm is superably well equipped with its own fleet of tractors, self-propelled sprayer, combine and potato harvesters and associated cultivation and planting equipment. Within the farming unit, there is significant cold storage for potatoes with integrated grading and handling facilities, plus owned grain storage in co-operative facilities at close by and a 10 million + gallon reservoir and underground main services for full farm irrigation. To note there is an excellent farm house available on the farm that will go with this role.
To be successful in such a role you will be a recently experienced Farm Manager or an Assistant Farm Manager ready to take the next step in your career. You will be a proven people manager of degree calibre who is production minded with good irrigation knowledge, coupled with potentially already having obtained yours BASIS and FACTS qualifications.
