Mergers and Acquisition Advisor/Consultant/Non-Exec Required for the UK/EU Ornamental Sectors
Our client is a highly impressive investment fund. They have created a unique food and agribusiness focused platform that invests in companies whose operating model, technologies or secure access to natural resources provides a sustainable competitive advantage. As such, they advise on investments in new and innovative companies that are well positioned to benefit from the transition of the food and agriculture value chain to a new, sustainable model. They have raised over USD 1bn to date, advising growth and buyout investments in mid-market food production and processing businesses and late-stage venture agrifood tech companies who are disrupting the food value chain in Europe, USA and other OECD countries.
They are rapidly expanding and a key area that they wish to major on is the ornamental sector in the UK and the EU. As such they are looking to source an ornamental expert to join them on a consultancy basis to guide them on a M&A basis. This is predominately to act as a consultant, a guide, and a coach for its existing sector purchases as well as assisting them to target other ornamental businesses to acquire/collaborate with, and to further increase their market share.
For you to add value to the business and to create the difference they want to see, the question isn’t whether to do “deals” but how to do them so that they create ongoing sustainable value. What they want to see is for you to use your expertise and deploy M&A as an integral part of their ongoing growth strategy, to plan for opportunities long before they arise, and build a repeatable acquisition model honed through frequent, continuous deal making in the ornamental sectors.
By deploying you, they expect to improve the odds of “deal” success whilst taking required due diligence to the next level with a fact-based, rigorously quantified assessment that helps you ward off deal fever, spot synergies others miss, and prepare for integration long before a potential deal is inked. Included in this all is to capture maximum value from acquisitions with a battle-tested approach to integration that mitigates the many risks that can undercut a deals’ anticipated synergies.
You will have extensive ornamental experience and perhaps previously run/owned or bought/sold business in the sectors, be that in the UK or the EU. You will understand the market trends and appreciate the ongoing potential for more automation as a further route for success for ornamentals.
