Our client is a vertical farming company, with the aim of feeding the world, and is taking a revolutionary approach to growing short, leafy, green plants. Our client is looking for an experienced Plant Engineer to provide engineering support within the operations function, evaluating and improving the process, using analytical tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the plant and equipment. Deliver world class process performance by eliminating non-value adding elements and increasing reliability. This is a hands-on role requiring engineering experience combined with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong team ethic.
Responsibilities
• Maintaining and improving process plant and equipment
• Increasing efficiency and yield by the continuous improvement of the process
• Carrying out effective maintenance of the process plant
• Evaluate processes based on quality criteria, such as efficiency and speed
• Study production and machine requirements
• Integrate disparate systems (e.g. equipment handling, transport)
• Optimize facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance
• Resolve issues and delays in operations
• Find ways to reduce costs and maximize quality
• Train staff in new and existing processes
• Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers
• Ensure that operating procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
• Upgrade systems and processes with new technology
We require an enthusiastic and flexible individual with good experience of manufacturing engineering, to support the commissioning and improvement of the process plant and equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. A high level of awareness of good health and safety practice is essential as the individual will be responsible for the safety of themselves and others within the site. Ideally educated to HNC in an engineering discipline, good experience and a strong team ethic is essential.
