Due to continued success, they are now looking for a superstar Quality Assurance Manager to join their team, based ideally in Huelva, Spain.
The Quality Assurance Managers support the Commercial, Technical and Procurement Team to maintain relationships between growers, pickers and packers, ensuring they are able to meet customer demands.
- Assist the Group Technical Director in matters appertaining to product safety, quality and legality.
- Create an on-going dialogue with the suppliers you are visiting to ensure that you are aware of the current supply and potential issues and communicate these as appropriate to the Berry Technical Manager.
- Assist in ensuring all the quality and commercial targets are met for product procured from Europe & Africa (particularly from Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Holland and Eastern European countries) and from Egypt & Morocco.
- Visit suppliers during the Iberian and Moroccan season for at least 3 days a week to review quality, packing at source, innovation and maintain relationship with suppliers.
- Travel to other suppliers in Europe and Egypt where required during their berry seasons.
- Project a positive image to colleagues, customers, and suppliers in all interactions.
- Ensure operational excellence by helping maintain a culture of ruthless efficiency, individual responsibility and effective communication
- Deputize for the Lead QA & Technical Manager as required. Provide cover for Managers in Spain/Portugal/Morocco for all aspects of their job as necessary.
Product Management / Quality
- Manage the quality standards at source with suppliers, identifying the best supply options and anticipating potential quality issues.
- Ensure that suppliers respect the harvesting protocols and residency times, together with a correct cool chain and product flow.
- Ensure that the customers’ required quality standards are understood by the suppliers and effectively maintained and communicated at all times.
- Effectively liaise and communicate on day-to-day quality issues with suppliers where and when berries are being packed.
- Carry out QA inspections at supplier’s pack houses mainly in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and Holland to ensure that product is being packed to requirements.
- Take active involvement in decision making
