Our client is a leading British and international soft fruit producer. They are extremely passionate about underpinning growing techniques with a significant research and development programme.
The main purpose of the role is the application of agricultural pesticides in a safe and effective manner in line with crop spray schedules to control and eradicate plant pests, weeds and diseases such that expected crop yields are not adversely affected. Spraying would always take priority and we envisage this to encompass around 70% of the role.
You will also contribute greatly to the R&D Team by undertaking several other tasks including irrigation monitoring & scheduling, monitoring crop health, plant breeding, selection and assessment of new varieties and preparation of laboratory samples.
The position would be suitable for a graduate (in a relevant field of study) looking to work within growing / R&D or an individual with experience in horticulture.
