Well, that was a success! The “Salad Rig Challenge” with Agri-TechE & G's Group held earlier this week gave us all a unique opportunity to be part of a lettuce-harvesting team on the rig - the groups of cutters, packers, box-makers and pallet-stackers had very different backgrounds yesterday - team’s consisted of the likes of a agri-tech entrepreneur, an academic, an IP lawyer, the head of business at a research institute, a CEO of a corporate finance house, the head of agriculture at a technical design consultancy and technical manager of an agchem business - plus a few others!
We filmed for Beanstalk.Global and Redfox Executive Selection Ltd and the events aim was for Agri-Tech E members to meet each other and forge new connections and collaborations, and also gain a snapshot of the issues facing UK food producers and where innovation might be able to help - and where there are still innovation gaps awaiting solutions.
Hear from Anthony Gardiner on the technical solutions they have created with key partners and James Green on where he and G’s see the market currently.
Huge thanks to G's Group Growers who had a fantastic team to train us all, talk us through the issues and most importantly, keep us working safely. Particular thanks to James Green and Anthony Gardiner and the rig crews, and the amazing team in the innovation and agronomy functions in Gs who helped us understand so much more about the real world of farming and sustainable production.
